CELEBRATING INTERNATIONAL CHILDHOOD CANCER DAY

Today (15.02.2021) in honour of the International Childhood Cancer Day (ICCD) at the initiative of the Charity Foundation "Lona" and the Republican Scientific Cancer Center of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan a conference was held in this centre. The conference was attended by employees of the centre, employees of the foundation, children undergoing treatment, their parents, as well as media representatives. The opening speech was made by the Director of the Republican Scientific Cancer Center Huseynov Z.H. and the director of the “Lona” Charity Foundation Bobokhonov J.A. and then the presentation of the Director of the Pediatric Oncology Department of the Republican Scientific Cancer Center Umarova M.N. and the Foundation was heard regarding the work done in the last 10 years and the results achieved during this period. In addition, more than 10 children who were cured of cancer with the support of the Foundation and returned to normal life were invited to participate in this event. They told other patients about their success and victory over cancer. The parents of the other children, whose children are currently receiving medical treatment, were encouraged by this initiative, their hopes for their children's recovery increased, and everyone said, "We will win too!" At the same time, the parents of the healed patients made a speech and thanked the representatives of the Foundation for their continued support. Also, in order to please the participants of the event, the Charity Foundation "Lona" in cooperation with the State Exemplary Theater of Miniature "Mirror" held a comedy show, which was well-received by the participants. At the end of the event, representatives of the “Lona” Charity Foundation together with the staff of the institution presented children with a variety of sweets and other gifts established by the Foundation.
